A new option in the Disney Look has been added for the hot summer months, now through September. Walt Disney World Co. supervisory and office personnel are permitted to wear Bermuda/walking shorts. This optional appearance style is meant to be a fun, cool and professional look.
Brochures describing the guidelines for the new look are being distributed to supervisory and office cast members. These guidelines, which are reprinted here, are in addition to those already listed in the Disney Look Book:

To the right of Dick and Kerry, you can see the ubiquitous sailboats that appeared in most Disney publications. They used them quite a bit in the 1970s and later for promoting the Caribbean Beach Resort.
In all honesty, though, I do believe that I would have chosen pants over those socks...

So from the waist up you look like Gordon Gekko and from the waist down you look like a mailman.
I'm pretty sure that even looked stupid in the '70s.
Arguably the worst decision Dick ever made. I remember when this was unveiled (after Dick got the idea from seeing people wear it in the Bahamas)and the few people who tried it looked incredibly stupid, mainly because of the socks!
Thankfully, this quickly went the way of Dick's Poly wave machine...
oh this is brilliant. i'd make a comment about dated trends but i'm fairly certain in 2030, people will be looking at the silly trends prevalent today!!

Maybe the trend already happened... was Angus Young a Cast Member before AC DC?
As much as anyone can appreciate old school, there ain't no way.
This brings back memories. This was my second summer working at WDW. I remember seeing many managers walking around in their dress shirts, ties, and shorts. I thought it was cool at the time.
With those socks, he looks like he should be starring in "Oliver!" or something.
