Dump Your Kids on Us!

--From the October, 1978 WDW News.

The graphic caught my eye first. Then, I noticed the amazing hours at the Contemporary! You can drop off your toilet trained kids at the Contemporary Resort child-care all day, while you enjoy the Magic Kingdom, Treasure Island and the World Cruise . While you're at it, be sure to visit the Top of the World or any of the fine dining at the Disney Village. If you leave the kids at the Polynesian Village Resort, you can partake of the atmosphere of Captian Cook's Hideaway!

And not to be too sexist, but it does say "trained child-care hostesses." Nothing screams 1970s like female-only child-care!

Too awesome. I'm surprised that the Contemporary had longer hours than the Poly, since Poly has that dedicated stand-alone Neverland Club! And the "hostesses" thing is hilarious.

I think this predates the Neverland Club, at the least it's most likely before it became as well known and recognized as it today.

Anyway, I think you would have to have very little common sense to interpret the hours for the service being available as the length of time you could and/or should leave your child.

And I don't consider Mom and dad wanting some alone time as the equivalent of "dumping."

And what's wrong with the hostess thing? Fair to men or not, the perception is that woman are more nurturing and patient than males, even today.
