- Walt Disney's Railroad Story: The Small-Scale Fascination That Led to a Full-Scale Kingdom by Michael Broggie. I have wanted to add this book to my collection for a long time. Michael is the son of Roger Broggie, a machinist with the Disney Studio. Roger helped create the Carolwood Pacific, effects for the film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and a pioneer of audio-animatronics. He also helped to plan a lot of EPCOT Center in the 1970s.

That one intrigues me.
Michael Broggie's book Walt Disney's Railroad Story is one of the best books out there. It's VERY extensive and detailed and has so many photos. It is a nice thick book with some great stories of Walt, his fascination with trains and the Disneyland Railroad. This is one of those books that ALL Disney fans sould own. Read throught this book twice in 5 years. Interesting to see the "Carrollwood" layout drawings, then look at Walt's old residence on Google Earth.
I picked up the DVD version of Railroad Story when I was at Walt's Barn two years ago and that was nice enough. Maybe I'll pick up the book itself next time.
Walt Disney's Railroad Story is high on my list of books to own as well. I'm hoping to be able to justify the high expenditure for it soon.
