Daily Figment 119 - Reading Trout

Andrew and I are very excited about the opportunity to meet David Koenig and (hopefully) Jason Surrell at Reading Trout Books in Celebration this weekend during MouseFest. This is not an official MouseFest meet, but you can't pass up an opportunity like this.

While we are ensconced in MouseFest-type stuff, we will do our very best to keep you updated with posts and pictures. There won't be another Daily Figment until Wednesday. Don't forget to explore some of the other Geek-Out links on the right-hand side. We're MouseFest bound, ya'll!

Here is what is on the agenda for us on Friday night.

Trout gets schooled on Disney History.
California Author & a Disney Imagineer share stories of Creation & Development of Walt Disney World in December.

CELEBRATION, Florida – November 1, 2007 - Independent Bookseller, Reading Trout Books, is pleased to continue its Trout Tales Author Series in December with two exceptional presentations on the development and construction of Walt Disney World.

On Friday, December 7 at seven thirty in the evening, the author of Realityland: True Life Adventures at Walt Disney World will present a multi-media story of how Walt Disney and his company designed and built the most notable entertainment complex in the world.

Highlights include considerable details about the development of Epcot Center as well as numerous projects destined not to make it beyond the drawing board. The author spent over 10 years and conducted over 100 interviews in the research of this book, his first tile about the Walt Disney Company in Florida.

Previously, David Koenig focused his work on the Disneyland Resort with titles including Mouse Under Glass and Mouse Tales. All of the author’s works are available now and will be discounted 10% during the event.

The following night, Saturday, December 8 at seven thirty in the evening, Walt Disney Imagineer and Show Producer, Jason Surrell, will host a question and answer session about his newest book, The Disney Mountains. This title highlights the stories behind the 18 “mountain” attractions at Disney Theme Parks around the world.

Jason Surrell, is also the author of Disney titles including Pirates of the Caribbean: From Magic Kingdom to the Movies, The Haunted Mansion: From Magic Kingdom to the Movies and Screenplay by Disney. All of the author’s works are available now and will be discounted 10% during the event.

Focusing on Local Authors and Florida Interests, Reading Trout Books Trout Tales series is one of many efforts by the retailer to build relationships and learning throughout the community.

Located in the Town Center of the master planned community of Celebration, Reading Trout Books carries over 12,000 volumes of new and used books, primarily hardbacks, with half priced under $15.

Inspired by a 1940’s Homefront Lounge with wood floors, bookshelves to the ceiling, and a fireplace surrounded by deep leather club chairs, the store specializes in unique titles from categories including Celebration & New Urbanism, Young Adults, Business, Fiction as well as Rare & Current Disney Editions.
