Nerdy Travel: One More Disney Day

Want a Free Day at Walt Disney World? What about spending 24 hours straight in the Magic Kingdom?

Disney has done some very interesting marketing promotions over the past few years. The latest one takes advantage of the leap year we have just entered. Basically, if you book a three-day/three-night non-discounted stay (during 2/26/12-3/10/2012), you will get one night/day free. The big news, though, is that Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be open 24 hours straight from 6:00am on February 29 until 6:00am March 1.

Check out the release below for more information.

This is not the first time that a Disney Park has been open for more than 24 hours. Disneyland did it several times in the 1980s and 1990s when a new attraction was opened (like Star Tours, Indiana Jones Adventure, etc). but this is the first time that both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be open for 24 hours. During the Grand Opening parties of the 1980s, Disneyland would often be open for 60 straight hours! Can you imagine being able to spend that much time at Disneyland?

Time is a precious thing. And, in 2012, it’s leap year so you will get an extra day to spend making memories with family and friends. Why not spend that extra day at the Disney Parks as Disney Parks celebrates “One More Disney Day” – a celebration of the extra day you can enjoy at Disney Parks during this Leap Year.
24 Hours of Magic!
In celebration of Leap Day, for the first time ever, both the Magic Kingdom® Park in Florida and the Disneyland® Park in California will be open for 24 hours straight, beginning at 6 a.m. on Feb. 29, 2012, to enjoy select attractions, entertainment and services! That’s an entire, non-stop day (and night) of magic, characters and more.
One more Disney Day and Night of Disney Magic Free!
Enjoy one more day and night of Disney magic FREE when buying a 3-night, 3-day non-discounted room and ticket package at select Walt Disney World® Resort or Disneyland® Resort hotels before Jan. 31, 2012 (for arrivals most nights Feb. 26 – March 10, 2012).
